3 things I will say to the class about it 1. The reason for the words I chose were because each individual word talked about the bosses, from all the bosses my favorite was Greg the CEO of the Utah Jazz basketball team it seemed he had so much care and concern for his employees that it actually brought tears to my eyes on how generous he was with the donations he made for the individuals. 2. From the second episode we watched I was inspired by Doug, he put his all into his work and did more then he really needed too, he even bought equipment such as harmless soaps to keep the children safe and workplace clean. This was inspiring because it opened my eyes to see that even if you aren't supplied with the stuff you need to get the job done, go out of your way and buy what you need to keep your day going. 3. From the first episode Mark inspired me, he was having so many issues with the support of his son due to his ex wife mot allowing him contact. Todd donated him the money so he could see him and now he has half custody so this was such a positive and teary eyes episode.
A) Through the aptitude tests (Focus/Career Cruising) we have taken, what have you learned about yourself? Did you notice anything that you thought didn't match who you are? For example a career or job choice you wouldn't dream of doing or a skill set it said you have that you never thought about?
ive learned a lot of different things such as my different personalities and career choices. no I haven't everything has seemed to be quite true.
B) Create a word cloud filled with words and important phrases you learned from service best. Insert this into your journal as well. There is no limit to words, but I would expect you to have at least 15.
C) Google Yourself - what comes up? Try your name in "quotation marks" and try it with Moose Jaw behind it. Put what you find in your journal. Is it appropriate or not?

1. Journal
Please talk about the following on your journal/reflection page
What has been the highlight of your work so far? the highlight of my job has been able to bond with the children and workers as well as getting my job there.
What is something that you have learned so far from your journey? i've learned that to get my ECE I can go through a course at my work place to get my levels.
What is a mistake you have made? How have you learned from it? a mistake i've learned is not to get attached to one child!! no sadly I haven't, I began to grow onto one child.
What would you teach a new employee about being in your workplace? I would teach them everything Lynn and the employees taught me. how to do things the right way and to have fun at work.
2. Sharing Circle - What have you been doing recently in your work placement? Have you enjoyed it so far? Is this a job you can see yourself having for the rest of your life? I have been working with new groups of children, I have gone from infants to toddlers and was with preschool recently. Yes I can as im working my way to get all my classes that I need.
Monday, December 14
1. How are you going to show initiative in your job this last week of your placement? How are you going to see something to do? How are you going to ask your employer if you can do a task that might not have been asked of you? (This would only happen if you are done the jobs you have been asked to do). I showed initiative by staying later to be more helpful with not only the babies but I helped put the toddlers and pre k to sleep! I just walked into her office and asked her and she said she will do it after her meeting!
2. Sharing Circle - What do you plan to do for your last week of placement? What would you have changed about your work placement (where you worked or what you did at your job?) I plan to be there a lot longer then needed to spend all the time in the world with my favorite baby!!!!! absolutely nothing! this place is the best! I mean at the beginning the girls weren't to happy about me being there... we've bonded well and now they are my favorite people! (I mean considering i'm antisocial and I get along with them all so well it is great)
Journal Response -
A new employee has come into your workplace. You are in charge of teaching them the ropes. Your supervisor tells you not to miss anything when teaching the new person but nothing else but that. What are you going to do? List all the steps that you will tell the person about your job. You have to remember to included, safety, work hours, rules and regulations, coffee breaks, start and stop times, etc.... anything that is applicable to your workplace. well we did have a new employee come in so I did have to teach him! quite easy really I was able to help train him in less then 3 days! he just needed to know the basics, how to dress(no boobs, no butt, no belly) then he needed to know where all cleaning supplies were, how to deal with children with different needs such as OCD, ADHD and ADD. it went so well he started the next week!
id start with showing him around the building and all the different age groups. id then show him our schedule and our hours Id show him our safety regulation guide and plan that is down in the pit then the rules breaks would have been explained in the interview. at the very end id ask if he had any questions.
4. Journal: Your journal this week is about THINKING before DOING. a. How did you think during work this semester? What made you think? Did you always think at every task? Did you notice others around you (no names need to be mentioned) not thinking? Did you notice others around you really thinking? Hmmmmmm thinking. Who knew we needed to think so much! I did great. what made me think this is because I was offered a job. I always think before I do something. yup!!!!!! not really they are always fricking talking. if you wants a good grade you always need to be thinking. b. Fear - What fear did you overcome this week? How did you overcome the fear? Maybe you didn't over come a fear this week.... What was that fear? Why is the fear stopping you? I had a couple of fears this week, two mainly though. my number one is presenting in front of the class, this is one fear I will never overcome. another is coming to class in general as I don't like anyone in this class. they all annoy me, copy work and talk so much like to be honest I could care less about there weekend so to conclude that its related to my fear because if I cant concentrate I cant give my all and if I cant give my all I cant pass this class with an awesome grade!
